Iran’s new parliament convenes first session
(VOVworld) - Iran’s new Parliament opens its first session on Saturday in Tehran after elections concluded in April.

Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei hailed the big voter turnout in the parliamentary elections. Mr Ali Khamenei reconfirmed two top priorities that the Parliament should work on including boosting the economic growth and expanding the Islamic culture. President Hassan Rouhani said that after three years, Iran’s economy has become stable; inflation has dropped to 10 % from 40%. He pledged to continue to lower inflation and to achieve a GDP growth rate of 5% this year.
