Iraq increases support for fight against IS in Anbar province
(VOVworld) – Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Al Abadi has ordered more aerial support and weapons for soldiers and Sunni militiamen battling the Islamic State in Anbar province.

The order came after Mr. Abadi met with representatives from the Anbar provincial council on November 22nd. Earlier, the Pentagon announced a plan to provide arms to Iraq’s tribesmen fighting the IS. The IS has occupied a number of cities and towns across Anbar province, including Fallujah. The group has held a part of Ramadi since November 21st.
