(VOVWORLD) - Four Islamic State (ISIS) fighters captured by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) were sentenced to death by an Iraqi court on Sunday.

The Karkh Criminal Court said in a statement that the 4 convicts, accused of carrying out criminal acts that targeted civilians with the aim of destabilizing security and stability inside Iraq and Syria, are sentenced to death by hanging. A judicial source said the four men were Iraqi.
