In a twitter post, al-Abadi said Baghdad defends Kurdish citizens as it defends all Iraqis and will not allow any attack on them. He said Kurdish and Iraqi citizens will share interests.
Iran announced earlier Saturday that it will organize joint exercises with Iraq to respond to Kurdish illegitimate referendum. Iraqi troops also joint a Turkish millitary drill near the Iraqi border on Tuesday.
