Ambassador Moran made the statement while visiting Ha Giang on Monday to review projects supported by the Irish government there during the 2011-2015 period.

At a working session with the provincial People’s Committee on Thursday, Ms. Moran urged Ha Giang to improve education and tourism development for ethnic people and work to reduce poverty.

Nguyen Minh Tien, Deputy Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, said he hopes the Irish government and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) will continue to invest in sustainable poverty reduction in the province until 2020.
