(VOVWORLD) - Israeli forces on Saturday attacked a school that was being used as a field hospital and a shelter in central Deir el-Balah, killing at least 30 people, including 15 children and 8 women, and injuring more than 100 others, Hamas’s communication office reported.

The Israeli army said it had struck a Hamas command center in a school.
Also on Saturday, Israeli strikes killed at least 14 Palestinians in the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis, where Israel has launched operation since July 22nd, but was confronted by Hamas gunmen.
Israeli airstrikes on Rafah city and the Al-Bureij refugee camp on Saturday killed at least 9 Palestinians.
Gaza’s health agency reported that more than 39,200 Palestinians died and over 90,500 were injured by Israeli airstrikes and ground attacks since the conflict broke out last October.
Israel also reported that about 1,200 Israelis were killed and 250 were taken hostage in the surprise raid by Hamas gunmen on October 7, 2023.
