(VOVworld) - After two rockets landed in Israel and two more struck the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, Israel’s military responded with airstrikes and artillery fire on Syrian targets, Israel said late Thursday. The Israeli Defense Forces targeted 14 Syrian military posts in an area of the Golan Heights under Syrian control, the military said. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said several Syrian soldiers were killed in the attacks. Syria’s SANA news agency reported that Israeli helicopters fired rockets at local government buildings in Syria’s Quneitra area in the Golan Heights, causing significant damage. The Israeli military confirmed that “four rockets were launched from the Syrian Golan Heights, landing in northern Galilee and the Israeli occupied Golan Heights.” No injuries were reported.
