(VOVworld) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Tuesday that Israel will intensify its offensive in the Gaza Strip after failing to reach a ceasefire with Hamas, which is currently controlling the area. The government "directed the military to act with intensity against terror targets in Gaza" when Hamas turned down Egypt’s proposal of a ceasefire.
Since Tuesday afternoon, Israel has launched at least 4 air strikes on the east of Gaza, Nusseirat refugee camp of the Palestinians, and Khan Yunis in the south of Gaza. A 77-year-old man was killed in Khan Yunis.
