(VOVWORLD) - Israel has continued to ask Palestinians in Rafah city, south of Gaza, to relocate to a place which the Israeli army identifies as expanded humanitarian area in Al-Mawasi.

Meanwhile in a post on social network X on Saturday, the Israeli army spokesman also called on people in Jabalia area, north of Gaza, and 11 adjacent areas to evacuate immediately to the shelter in the west. The Israeli army said that so far about 300,000 Gazans have been travelling to Al-Mawasi. This is the latest sign that the Israeli army is stepping up its ground attack on Rafah.
In related news, continuing to strongly oppose the Israeli army's attack on Rafah city, the Egyptian government on Saturday said that it would not cooperate with the occupying forces in the transportation of humanitarian aid from Egypt to Gaza. Egypt accuses Israel of taking full responsibility for the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza, due to escalating hostility policy.
European Commission President Charles Michel on Saturday said the Israeli army's request for Palestinians to leave Rafah is unacceptable. He called on Israel to comply with international humanitarian law and immediately end the operation on Rafah.
