Israeli media reported on Sunday that Israel asked for a meeting with the US after its failure to prevent the French-initiated Middle East peace conference, which will be held this summer. The meeting will discuss ways to restart the negotiation with Palestine. The French peace initiative is expected to receive important backing from the EU on Monday through a resolution adopted by the EU’s Foreign Affairs Committee. Israeli has made unsuccessful efforts to prevent EU from approving the resolution.
