The campaign was coordinated by the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Egypt, France and the US, using their airplanes.
The supplies were airdropped to the field hospital set up by Jordan in Khan Younis City. The IDF said the operation also complements the daily truckloads of humanitarian goods passing through the border crossing into Gaza.
The same day, US officials said that the Biden administration is considering an option of dropping aid from US military aircraft into Gaza because ground aid activities are becoming increasingly difficult.
The US State Department on Wednesday called on Israel to allow Muslims to pray at Al-Aqsa Temple in Jerusalem during the holy month of Ramadan.
Speaking to the media, Matthew Miller, a spokesperson for the US State Department, said that Israel needs to create opportunities for Muslims to go to Al-Aqsa Mosque because this is an important issue for Israel’s security.
