(VOVworld) - An Israeli air strike hit the northern Gaza Strip on Wednesday, killing one Palestinian and wounding two others. The Israeli army said that the air strike targeted terrorists related to global jihads. Earlier, a rocket from Gaza Strip targeted Israeli Eshkol region, causing no causalities.  
President Mahmoud Abbas condemned the attacks, and in an announcement posted by the Palestinian official news agency WAFA, urged Palestinian armed groups to abide by previous ceasefire deals with Israel and avoid giving Israel any excuses for continued attacks targeting Gaza.

The same day, the US criticized Gaza Strip’s rocket attacks targeting Israel, calling them unreasonable provocative acts. However, the US reiterated that it will still work with the new Palestinian government.
