(VOVworld) – The Israeli army says it carried out air strikes on military targets in Syria on Monday in retaliation for the killing of a teenage Israeli boy in the occupied Golan Heights on the border between the two countries on Sunday. Israel confirmed hitting targets which included Syrian military headquarters and missile launch sites. Israel called the death of the boy, whose father is an Israeli defense contractor, the most senior incident in the Golan Heights since start of the Syrian conflict in 2011.
