He made the appeal at a Thursday online conference connecting the Ministry’s agencies in Hanoi, HCM City, and Da Nang City, to review the ministry’s performance in 2014 and set tasks for 2015. He also urged the Ministry to offer basic telecommunications services in remote areas.
He said: "
Basic postal and telecommunications services should be available in remote areas to satisfy public demand. Proper management of such services is needed to ensure the public interest and citizens’ rights and to get people to contribute to the sector."
In 2015, the Ministry plans to improve its management of the press, broadcasting, and television sectors, e-information, and information for external activities, while boosting activities to ensure information safety, dealing with possible cyber attacks, and protecting national sovereignty.
