(VOVworld) - The Italian Navy rescued 220 illegal North African migrants on Thursday in the Mediterranean. They arrived safe in the port of Catania on the Italian island of Sicily. In the past 3 days, the Italian Navy and Coast Guard have rescued 1,300 people. Authorities predict that arrivals of Libyan migrants will increase because of better weather in the Mediterranean.
