Japan to donate Vietnam another 400,000 doses of vaccine this month
(VOVWORLD) - President Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Wednesday thanked the Government and people of Japan for supporting Vietnam’s COVID-19 response, saying Vietnam respects and appreciates Japan's noble gesture.

Talking on the phone with Japanese Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide on Wednesday, President Phuc said Vietnam shares the difficulties facing Japanese enterprises and renews pledge to remove difficulties for production and business activities, and maintain supply chains. The President called for strengthening connection between the two economies in an efficient and quality manner with a focus on green and digital transformation.
Prime Minister Suga said he will not run for President of the Liberal Democratic Party for the next term to focus on COVID-19 response. He announced that Japan will give Vietnam another 400,000 doses of vaccine this month and will continue to support Vietnam in pandemic prevention and control. The Prime Minister thanked Vietnam for vaccinating Japanese citizens and supporting Japanese businesses in Vietnam during the COVID-19 pandemic.
