The recommendation was made at a forum in Hanoi on Friday, discussing the need to speed up technology transfer between the two countries. Being members of many regional Free Trade Agreements, Japan and Vietnam are expected to increase production capacity to benefit from these economic deals.
Dr. Nguyen Thi Tue Anh, Vice Chairwoman of the Central Institute for Economic Management, the organizer of the forum, said: “Promoting technology transfer from FDI projects is identified as a priority in Vietnam’s development strategy. Japanese investors have been recognized for having high competitiveness and advanced technology. Japanese investors have paid much interest in the Vietnamese market and prioritized industries. So a joint plan of action is needed to address the two countries’ shared concerns.”
