Japanese Prime Minister makes official visit to India
(VOVWORLD) -Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio arrived in New Delhi on Saturday on a two-day official visit to India to attend the 14th India-Japan summit.
This was the first meeting between Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This summit was an opportunity for both sides to review and strengthen the bilateral cooperation in diverse areas as well as exchange views on regional and global issues of mutual interest so as to advance their partnership for peace, stability and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond.
As for the Russia-Ukraine crisis, the two leaders called for an end to the escalation of tensions, pledging measures to assist in solving the humanitarian crisis in the Eastern European country. "There is no other option but a path of dialogue and diplomacy to find a solution to the conflict in Ukraine," the statement said. In the economic field, the Japanese Prime Minister announced an investment package worth 42 billion USD in India over the next 5 years.
