(VOVworld) – Japan's parliament approved on Tuesday a 40-billion-USD supplementary budget to boost its economy, which is experiencing a low growth rate and a decline in consuming and investment.

Most of the budget will be used to fund a stimulus package that the government announced in August: 6.9 billion USD will be used to improve welfare services, such as child care; 13,6 billion USD will be used for infrastructure improvement; about 4.2 billion USD will be allocated to support small and medium-sized companies and to revitalize local economies, and another 13.8 billion USD will be used for disaster relief and reconstruction of quake-damaged areas in southwestern and northeastern Japan.
