Kazakhstan faces terrorism: Putin

(VOVWORLD) - Kazakhstan is facing international terrorrism, said Russian President Vladimir Putin at a videoconference of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) on Monday.

Discussing the ongoing unrest in Kazakhstan with leaders of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, Mr. Putin said the CSTO can provide a fast and determined response, and has sent its peacekeeping force to Kazakhstan.
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said Kazakhstan is experiencing the worst crisis in its 30 years of independence, but its institutional order has been restored and security threats have been thwarted.
