Korean scholar applauds Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung’s speech

(VOVworld)-Professor Son Gi-woong of the Korean Institute for National Unification has applauded Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung’s speech on trust building for peace and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region at the 12th Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore. Professor Son agreed with Prime Minister Dung’s opinion on the role of big countries to ensure regional peace and stability. He said that strategies and action plans of these big countries should comply strictly with the international laws, respecting others’ sovereignty. Regarding the East Sea issue, Professor Son said that maritime security and safety as well as the freedom of navigation are the important factor to maintaining stability in the region. He concurs with Prime Minister Dung’s position that  solving all disputed issues on the basis of international law, and the cooperation between countries will surely bring peace and stability to the region.
