Ladakh standoff: Indian and Chinese armies hold high-level talks
(VOVWORLD) - Indian and Chinese armies on Saturday held high-level military talks with a "positive" approach, signaling an intent to end their month-long standoff in mountainous eastern Ladakh through peaceful dialogue.

The Indian delegation pressed for restoration of status quo ante in all the sensitive areas along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) besides seeking withdrawal of additional Chinese troops from the region.
Without specifically mentioning the talks, an Indian Army spokesperson said that Indian and Chinese officials will continue to remain engaged through the established military and diplomatic channels to address the current situation in India-China border areas.
Late last month, China deployed a significant number of troops to the LAC. In response, India sent an additional 5,000 troops to the Ladakh region of the Himalaya
