(VOVWORLD) -Thursday ceremony marking the 50th anniversary of Lam Dong Liberation Day (April 3) highlighted the historical significance of the 1975 Spring Victory, which liberated the south and unified the country and expressed deep gratitude to the generations of predecessors who sacrificed their lives for national liberation.

Addressing the event in Da Lat city, Minister of National Defense General Phan Van Giang applauded the achievements that Lam Dong province recorded during the resistance war and after the country's reunification.
He outlined future tasks, stressing the need to seize opportunities, make the most of time to exploit all potentials, advantages, and make strong breakthroughs in mechanisms, policies, human resources, and transport infrastructure connecting with regions.
"Efforts should be made to actively reform administration, develop science and technology, innovation and digitalization. Improve the investment and business environment, and enhance the province's competitiveness, attract quality investment, and build and train a team of highly qualified officials," Minister Giang said.
He urged for greater efforts to build the great national unity bloc, effectively implement policies, ensure social security and welfare, especially for policy beneficiaries and ethnic minority areas. "Be determined to make Lam Dong a province with fast and sustainable development," the Minister noted.
