(VOV) - Ho Chi Minh City is willing to support Laos in developing policies on knowledge-based economy, science and technology, software industry and hi-tech agriculture. The statement was made on Sunday by Le Hoang Quan Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City’s People’s Committee at a reception for visiting Lao Deputy Prime Minister Somsavad Lengsavath. Quan welcomed the Lao delegation’s visit as a positive contribution to strengthening the special time-honoured friendship between the two countries following their successful organization of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Year. Quan said that the city will create favorable conditions for the Lao delegation to study its successful hi-tech development models such as hi-tech zones in district 9, Cu Chi district, and Quang Trung Software Park in District 12. The Lao delegation’s visit aims to learn from Vietnam’s experience in science and technology and quality measurement.
