Lao newspapers including Pasaxon, Kongthav Pativat, and the National News Agency, Lao’s National Radio and Television have all applauded Party General Secretary Choummaly Sayasone’s visit to Vietnam. They said that it will strengthen bilateral cooperation and development and allow the two to exchange views on regional and global issues of mutual concern. The two countries’ leaders have expressed their satisfaction at the traditional friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and mutual trust despite the world changes. The Lao National News Agency quoted Choummaly as saying that the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Solidarity Year and activities to mark the 50^th anniversary of diplomatic ties and 30 years since signing the Lao-Vietnam Friendship and Cooperation Agreement have helped educate younger generations to maintain the special relationship.
