Paraxon newspaper ran an article saying that Lao people are proud and happy to welcome Vietnamese Party leader and President Nguyen Phu Trong to Laos. The article said the visit embraces friendship and special solidarity between the two peoples. The Pathetlao newspaper wrote about developments of bilateral friendship and cooperation last year saying they would contribute to building political strategic trust between the two countries and boosting bilateral ties.

Other major newspapers in Laos like Vientiane Times and Laophatthana frontpaged Lao leaders’ statements on the outcomes of bilateral cooperation over the past few years. The Pathetlao described Mr. Trong’s visit, his first visit to Laos as Vietnamese Party leader and President, an important political event saying it demonstrated the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam.
