At the event, the Laos ambassador to Vietnam, Sompon Sichalon spoke highly of Vietnam’s assistance to Laos: “Vietnam has always assisted Laos in human resource training and other fields, which contributes greatly to our national construction and defence. We will do our best to further develop the time-honored friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos”.

Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan sent new year wishes to Laos’ government and people: “The Vietnamese Party, State and people will always work with the Laos government and people to foster bilateral cooperation and make it increasingly effective. This will contribute to building an ASEAN Community by the end of 2015 for the benefits of the two peoples as well as peace, and stability in the region and the world”.
