(VOVworld) – Laos Deputy Prime Minister Bounpone Buttanavong spoke highly of Vietnam’s economic achievements in the first months of 2014. At a meeting with Vietnam’s Minister of Finance in Hanoi on Monday, he said Vietnam and Laos shared several economic and financial similarities and that Laos wanted to learn Vietnam’s experience in financial management: "Laos has exerted great efforts in financial and budget management but is still facing challenges. Laos highly appreciates the efforts by Vietnam’s finance sector in particular and the Vietnamese government in general, in stabilizing the macro economy, and hopes that Vietnam will share its experiences in this field. The Lao Party, State and people always appreciate Vietnam’s financial support and loans to Laos. The cooperation between the two Ministries of Finance has helped boost Vietnam and Laos comprehensive cooperation".

The Minister of Finance, Dinh Tien Dung informed the Laos delegation of Vietnam’s economic situation in the first 9 months of the year and shared its experience in financial and monetary management and taxation. Mr. Dung said Vietnam is willing to send financial experts to Laos to help the country overcome its current difficulties and implement agreements signed between the two countries in this field.
