(VOVworld) – A workshop on building a draft Law on Planning, took place in Hanoi on Monday. The event was held by the National Assembly’s Economic Committee, the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the UN Habitat.

The participants said it was essential to develop a proper and effective legal framework to confirm the role of planning in Vietnam. The law must assure comprehensive reform of planning, administrative procedures to promote investment, production and economic growth. They stressed the need to create a mechanism for delegation and coordination in planning, creating the proper conditions for related parties to take part for sustainable economic growth and environmental protection.

The draft Law on Planning is expected to be submitted to the National Assembly at its 10^th session.
