(VOVWORLD) - Foreign leaders have sent congratulations to Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong on his re-election as the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam in the 13th tenure.

In his congratulatory letter, Russian President Vladimir Putin highlighted Mr. Trong’s contribution to consolidating the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries. Putin expressed his hope that the two countries will continue to promote bilateral constructive dialogues to boost cooperation in all fields to meet interests of peoples of Russia and Vietnam and contribute to stability and security in Asia-Pacific.
In his congratulatory message, US President Joe Biden praised Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong’s commitments to boosting the Vietnam-US cooperation and partnership saying he hoped to further strengthen bilateral ties. President Biden emphasized that the strong comprehensive partnership that the two countries are consolidating is based on mutual respect, and respect for national independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity. Biden said he always supported the Vietnam-US ties when I was a Senator and US Vice President. He praised Mr. Trong’s efforts in fighting corruption and promoting good governance.
In his congratulatory letter, Japanese Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide expressed his delight at the close link between Japan and Vietnam. The Japanese Prime Minister expressed his hope that the two leaders will continue to cooperate to develop, deepen the “Extensive Strategic Partnership” between the two countries in politics, economics, and trade. He said as the world is facing unprecedented challenges due to COVID-19, Japan wants to work with the international community including Vietnam to overcome difficulties and challenges.
Sending congratulations to Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong, South Korean President Moon Jae-in praised the Party leader’s efforts to enhance bilateral ties. He expressed his hope to work with Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong for the development of the strategic cooperation partnership between the two countries in the coming time.
French President Emmanuel Macron said he hoped the two countries will work closely to strengthen and deepen bilateral ties, particularly in economics, culture, education, health care, and national defence. He cited France’s determination to boost cooperation at multilateral mechanisms.
Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha, and Indian President Ram Ram Nath Kovind sent congratulatory messages to Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong
