(VOVworld)- The Central Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control reports that by Saturday, 3 people died, 4 people were injured, 200 houses collapsed, nearly 2,500 ha of rice and vegetables were submerged and more than 11,500 animals died due to torrential rain and flooding in recent few days.

The National Center for Hydro-meteorology Forecast reported that on Sunday, there were heavy rains in the north. In Sa Pa district, Lao Cai province, heavy rains over the past few days have caused landslide in a number of areas. Le Tan Phong is Deputy Chairman of Sa Pa District’s People’s Committee: “We have evacuated people from landslide high-risked areas since yesterday. 29 households in Su Pan, Trung TRai and Ban Quang communes were evacuated. There have been no losses of lives, only one household lost their assets”.
