Ly Son island - the Fatherland's outpost

(VOVWORLD) - Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communications and Education Nguyen Trong Nghia on Thursday spoke highly of Ly Son island district’s socio-economic, defense, and security work.

At a meeting with the district’s Party Committee, he stressed the need to further promote local cultural, historical, and revolutionary traditions to make Ly Son island deserved the Fatherland's outpost.     

“Ly Son district’s Party Committee and people continue to promote their achievements while making tourism, fishing, and aquaculture the local spearhead sectors, especially in our Hoang Sa waters. Traditional farming methods should be preserved in association with tourism and other services,” said Mr. Nghia.     

The same day, Mr. Nghia and a delegation of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communications and Education visited the Monument of the Hoang Sa Fleet in charge of protecting Bac Hai sea and the museum of the Bac Hai - Hoang Sa Fleet.
