Math students receive scholarships

(VOVworld)- Vietnam’s Advanced Mathematics Research Institute on Sunday presented awards to 37 scientific projects and scholarships to 440 math students. The awards and scholarships are under the Key National Program on Mathematics Development of the Ministry of Education and Training, that aim to promote the development of mathematics in Vietnam and encourage Vietnamese students to learn mathematics better. Professor Le Tuan Hoa, Executive Director of the Advanced Mathematics Research Institute and a member of the Key National Program on Mathematics Development’s Secretariat, says: “There are many ways to promote the development science in general and mathematics in particular. The scholarships will help ease students’ financial difficulties and encourage them to learn and pursue math. The awards also aim at encouraging Mathematics teachers to pursue their career”.
The Key National Program on Mathematics Development in the 2010-2020 period was launched under the Prime Minister’s decision. It aims to promote the development of mathematics in Vietnam in terms of research, application and education.
