(VOVworld) – A meeting of Russian war veterans who worked in Vietnam was held by the Vietnamese embassy in Russia on Friday to mark the 70^th anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army December 22.

Vietnamese Military Attaché, Colonel Nguyen Van Hai reviewed the history of the Vietnam People’s Army and the significant support of the Soviet Union for Vietnam during its national wars of resistance: “Russian war veterans have sacrificed their youth for Vietnam’s defense and reunification. Despite their age, they have continued to contribute to strengthening the bond between our two peoples and armies. Vietnam has become the second home to them and their relatives and friends. Vietnam’s National Defense Ministry acknowledges and values their contributions to Vietnam People’s Army and military cooperation between Vietnam and Russia.”
