(VOVworld) – A meeting was held in the central city of Hue on Tuesday to mark World Environment Day and Vietnam’s National Week on Clean Water and Environmental Sanitation. A national target program on clean water and environmental sanitation in schools in 2015 was also launched at the meeting. Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Thi Nghia said that the Party and state were concerned to ensure clean water and environmental sanitation, particularly in rural areas.

She stressed the importance of awareness-raising programs in schools: “It is crucial to step up communications to increase the awareness and responsibility of teachers, education managers, students, and the community about the importance of clean water and environmental sanitation. Let’s make our environment green and clean.”
