The Steering Committee for the Mekong Delta Economic Cooperation Forum (MDEC) 2014 convenes

(VOVworld)- The Mekong Delta Economic Cooperation Forum (MDEC) 2014 will in Soc Trang province in early November focusing on restructuring the agricultural sector and building new-style areas in the region. A string of workshops and conferences on how to raise agricultural value chains and further promote investment in agricultural production will be organised during the event. The forum will also discuss orientations and plans to foster cooperation between the regional localities and Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi and others across the country. The MDEC – Soc Trang 2014 will coincide with the renowned Ok Om Bok Festival of the Khmer ethnic people, aiming to promote tourism, investment and trade, and introduce local traditional cultural values to visitors.
