At a conference Monday in Can Tho city on reviving tourism in the region, participants discussed infrastructure improvements, training courses on epidemic prevention, new tourism products, and better coordination of tours, routes, and promotions.
Tourism companies were encouraged to introduce new products adapted to different seasons and tourist preferences.
Le Thanh Phong, Vice Chairman of the Mekong Delta Tourism Association, said that localities at the meeting made stronger commitments.
“We need to work together and set up an alliance to stimulate demand and cooperate with key regions like Ho Chi Minh City and the South Central region in creating new tourism products for the ‘new normal’ period. All 13 provinces and cities in this region have agreed to get local tourism back to where it was before the pandemic in 2019,” said Phong.
