(VOVworld) – The Mekong river delta is striving to help more than 44,000 households escape poverty this year. This will lower the poverty rate to 6% from 7.2% in 2013. To achieve this target, provinces are required to improve the local infrastructure system, particularly inter-provincial roads and promote restructuring in industrial and agricultural production and trade. They also need to encourage farmers to develop household and farm economies as well as processing and handicrafts.
