General Lam proposed the establishment of a bilateral co-operation mechanism in security and crime prevention and control between the Ministry of Public Security and Swiss law enforcement agencies.
He called on Switzerland to step up the sharing of law enforcement experience, crime information, and co-ordination in the fight against transnational crimes.
Minister Lam underlined the need to improve the capacity of law enforcement officers, strengthen the exchange of information, co-ordinate support, and help each other in implementing international treaties to which both are signatories.
He asked Switzerland to share information on anti-terrorism, support advanced training for Vietnamese air security forces, and create favorable conditions for Vietnamese to live and do business in Switzerland.
Ambassador Gass said Swiss authorities wish to advance relations with the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security to ensure security and order in both countries.
