At a ceremony in Hanoi on Tuesday to launch a Month of Action themed “Joining hands to care for, educate, and protect children”, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said: "I want to emphasize the three pillars of children's lives – family, school, and society. The family should be a happy "green house" where children are raised and taught by responsible parents. The school should be a place where every day is a joy and children consider their teacher to be another parent. And society should reflect a collective responsibility and love for children."
The PM underlined the importance of strictly enforcing the Law on Children and other laws related to child care, education, and protection.
"We must work together to ensure that children are the first to benefit from socio-economic development. We are determined to achieve the goal of comprehensive physical and mental development of children. President Ho Chi Minh once said: "For the sake of 10 years' benefit, we must cultivate trees; for the sake of 100 years' benefit, we must cultivate people.” Families, schools, and society must fulfill their responsibilities to children to spread love, compassion, courage, wisdom, and patriotism, so that our country will become powerful and prosperous," sai Prime Minister Chinh.
