(VOVWORLD) - As many as 21 million Indonesians will get a third dose of COVID-19 vaccine as an antibody booster, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said Monday.

Budi said President Joko Widodo has decided to start the booster vaccination program on January 12.
He explained that the booster vaccine will be administered to adults over 18 years of age in accordance with of World Health Organization (WHO) recommendations.
Venezuela has begun administering COVID-19 booster shots to its population, starting with medical workers, then people over 60 who have received their second shot within the last 6 months.
The US Food and Drug Administration on Monday authorized a third dose of the Pfizer vaccine for children ages 12 to 15, and narrowed the interval for booster shot eligibility to five months from six.
