Moscow seminar: APEC 2017 is opportunity for Vietnam to assert its position

Participants discussed tasks of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum 2017, prospects for Vietnam-Russia ties, the role of Russia in Asia-Pacific, and the position of Vietnam in the international arena and world economy.
They agreed that the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week in Vietnam next month will mark a new phase of international integration and significantly improve economic stability and security globally. They urged APEC economies to make the most of the opportunities created by this event to fulfill their economic targets. The Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership is an important element of APEC’s and Russia’s South East Asia policy. The participation of world leaders, including US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, in the coming APEC Summit reflects Vietnam’s increasing role in the world, the participants said.
The event was held by the Moscow-based REGNUM News Agency and the Research Support Foundation “Workshop of Eurasian Ideas”.
