Muslim world criticizes Israel’s air strike in Gaza humanitarian zone

(VOVWORLD) - On Tuesday, multiple Islamic nations in the Middle East issued statements condemning an Israeli air strike on a crowded tent camp housing displaced Palestinians in southern Gaza which killed at least 40 people and wounded 60 others.

In a statement on social media platform X, the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called the Israeli air strike a crime against Palestinian civilians. The Saudi Foreign Ministry called on the international community to intervene immediately, including activating necessary mechanisms to put an end to Israel's actions in Gaza and other Palestinian territories.

Turkey on Tuesday denounced an Israeli strike on a humanitarian zone in the Palestinian territory that killed dozens as “another war crime".

Nasser Kanaani, a spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, said the airstrike  once again showed that Israel does not abide by any legal or international standards or moral and human principles.

He called on international institutions, particularly the UN Security Council, to stop the Israel's unending violations of the UN Charter and international law.

In another development, Israel’s media and military reported that Hezbollah forces on Tuesday used rockets and explosive-laden drones to strike northern Israel. Footage showed a Hezbollah drone flying over northern Israel as sirens sounded in residential areas and towns near the border.

Israel launched multiple strikes on southern Lebanon on Tuesday, including one which killed a senior Hezbollah commander. Mohammed Qassem Al-Shaer, a commander of Hezbollah’s elite Radwan Force, was killed in a strike on the village of Qaraoun in the western Beqaa district on Tuesday, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
