NA Chairman holds talks with Cambodian Senate President

(VOVworld) – National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung held talks with visiting President of the Cambodia Senate Samdech Say Chhum in Hanoi on Wednesday, focusing on an array of important contents of comprehensive cooperation between the two legislatures. Hailing Cambodia’s recent development achievements, Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung reasserted that Vietnam places special importance to its cooperation and friendship with neighboring countries, including Cambodia. He expressed his belief that the visit by the Senate President will cement the traditional friendship between the two countries.

Mr. Samdech Say Chhum showed his joy of visiting Vietnam and hailed Vietnam’s renovation accomplishments. He said he believes that Vietnam will reap new achievements in its industrialization and modernization under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Both sides agreed to increase all-level visit exchange and support each other at parliamentary forums. They stressed that the two legislatures will step up their role in supervising the enactment of reached agreements, especially the progress of border demarcation and marker planting, and cooperation in economics, trade, investment, culture-education and national defense. Vietnam will continue providing the Cambodia National Assembly with technical assistance and support in personnel training and human resources development. They said the two countries will work together to educate the young generation on the two countries’ traditional solidarity and special friendship. They agreed that the countries will increase cooperation, share viewpoints and consult each other in international issues of shared concerns.
