(VOVworld) - Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China Zhang Dejiang held talks with National Assembly chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung following the welcoming ceremony on Thursday.

He stressed the need to control conflicts and set orientations to developing bilateral ties. Mr. Hung called for continued parliamentary cooperation and visit exchanges toward creating consensus and promoting friendship between the two countries. He said he hopes Mr. Zhang and other Chinese leaders will settle existing differences over territorial sovereignty via discussions to seek solutions that meet the two people’s’ legitimate interests. On the occasion, the Vietnamese leader invited Zhang to visit Vietnam at his convenience. Zhang accepted the invitation with pleasure. Following their talks, they signed a cooperative agreement between the two legislatures.
