NA Chairman leaves Hanoi for attendance at IPU-150, visits to Uzbekistan, Armenia

(VOVWORLD) - National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man, his spouse Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga and a high-level NA delegation left Hanoi on Tuesday afternoon for their upcoming attendance at the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU-150) and official visits to Uzbekistan and Armenia.

The visits are made at the invitations of IPU President Tulia Ackson, IPU Secretary-General Martin Chungong, President of the Senate of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva, and President of the National Assembly of Armenia Alen Simonyan.

Since joining the IPU in 1979, the Vietnamese National Assembly has been an active and responsible member, initiating proposals and making substantial contributions to the IPU’s activities. Vietnam has held leadership roles within the IPU on multiple occasions, notably hosting the 132nd IPU Assembly in 2015 and the 9th Global Young Parliamentarians’ Conference in Hanoi in 2023.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man’s official visits to Armenia and Uzbekistan holds profound political significance, reflecting Vietnam’s respect for its traditional friendships with both nations and its commitment to deepening political trust. The visits aim to establish a strong foundation for enhanced cooperation in various fields, fostering stronger ties and elevating relations to new heights.
