(VOVworld)-National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung on Tuesday visited the province of Udon Thaini in Thailand.

He praised the role played by the Vietnamese community in Thailand for mutual support in integration in the host country and contribution to national development. He reiterated the Party and State’s support to overseas Vietnamese: “Overseas Vietnamese always turn their heart and mind to the homeland in national construction for peace, unity, independence and democracy. Viet Kieu in Udon, Bangkok and other parts of the world are charged with the mission of fostering friendship cooperation between Vietnam and the world community as a wish by President Ho Chi Minh.”The National Assembly Chairman received the provincial governor the same day. He called for local government support in the purchase and lease of land, especially for the building of schools by local Thai Vietnamese to teach Vietnamese language. He also met staff at the Vietnamese embassy and concluded his official visit to Thailand before departing for an official visit to Japan on Tuesday.
