Chairman Man welcomed the  EP Committee on International Trade's proposal to establish a joint cooperation mechanism between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the European Parliament.

He expressed his hope that the Ambassadors and Charge d'Affaires will increase exchange, contact and coordination with Vietnam’s friendship parliamentary groups to promote bilateral across-the-board cooperation.

Chairman Man suggested that both sides maximize the existing cooperation and dialogue mechanisms, especially parliamentary cooperation channels, in order to well implement the EU-Vietnam Comprehensive Partnership and Cooperation Agreement and the Free Trade Agreement. He called on the Parliament of the remaining nine EU member countries to soon ratify the Investment Protection Agreement for bilateral trade and investment to grow strongly.

EU Ambassador to Vietnam Julien Guerrier highlighted potential for cooperation in green growth, digital economy, circular economy, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, justice, labor, defense-security, and climate change response, with priority given to implementing the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP).

Ambassadors and Charge d'Affaires of EU countries praised Vietnam's more important role and position as well as Vietnam's achievements in protecting human rights, including children’s and women’s rights.

Responding to Chairman Man’s proposal, the EU Ambassadors and Charge d'Affaires pledged further coordination with Vietnamese agencies in lifting the EU’s Yellow Card warning against illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing, which has been imposed on Vietnamese seafood exported to the EU markets.
