Receiving SK’s Chairman Chey Tae-won in Hanoi on Friday, Mr. Hue proposed that the group cooperate with Vietnamese partners to research and implement carbon-neutral liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects, solutions for effective energy distribution, and building environmentally friendly centers for clean energy and agriculture.
The Vietnamese top legislator lauded the soon-to-be inaugurated National Innovation Center (NIC), which received significant support from SK Group, as an important push for innovative startups in Vietnam and contribute to accelerating economic transformation and construction of more centers in Vietnam.
He suggested SK contribute to the building of a practical legal framework on Vietnam’s energy transition and carbon emission reduction toward the net-zero goal for 2050, consult, and support Vietnam in technical issues and designing policies to attract foreign investments.
The SK Group’s leader said he considers the inauguration of the NIC an achievement of the agreements signed by the two countries during NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue’s recent official visit to the RoK.
Mr. Chey said that SK Group currently holds many technologies and is ready to co-operate with Vietnamese partners in green energy transition, especially in localities with potential to develop LNG.
