Vietnamese Ambassador to China Dang Minh Khoi said the Chinese leaders have repeatedly said they attach great importance to Chairwoman Ngan’s visit. Ambassador Khoi underlined how important the trip is: “The visit takes place when the relationship between the Vietnamese and Chinese Parties and States is developing strongly and comprehensively. Ms. Ngan will be highest-ranking Vietnamese leader to visit China since China’s 19th National Party Congress in late 2017. The visit will strengthen the friendly cooperation between the two countries’ National Assemblies and its agencies. It coincides with China’s just-concluded celebration of its 40th anniversary of reform and openness and preparation for the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China. This shows the support of the Vietnamese Party, State, and people for China’s development over the past 70 years, particularly 40 years of reform and openness.”
The Vietnamese Ambassador said Chairwoman Ngan’s visit will strengthen political trust and the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership between Vietnam and China. It will also demonstrate the increasingly important role of the National Assembly’s foreign affairs in the State’s foreign affairs in the context of Vietnam’s extensive international integration.
